The Diocese of Imus was created on November 12, 1961. It compromises the civil province of Cavite and covers a land area of 1, 287 square kilometers, with a population of 2, 856, 765 of which over seventy percent are catholics. Its titular Patroness is the Nuestra Señora del Pilar. The Diocese is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Manila
The year 2011 marks the 50th Anniversary or the Golden Jubilee of the Establishment of the Diocese.
